Encaustic is considered one of the most ancient painting mediums in the world. The word "encaustic" comes from the Greek encaustikos, "to burn in," referring to the process of fusing the layers of paint together. The oldest surviving use is the famous Fayum portraits painted on tombs from Roman Egypt around 100-350 A.D. After disappearing for much of history, it was revived in the 1950s by Jasper Johns, who is often considered the father of contemporary encaustic paintings. view full article here

Two-Point Perspective, Depth, and Accuracy - by Richard Kennedy
Two-point perspectives differ from one-point perspectives in their use of a second vanishing point. They also differ in another way: two-point perspectives never have horizontal lines. All lines except verticals are drawn to a vanishing point. Their are many ways to draw two-points, the best methods being ones we can easily remember and apply to the design process with relative quickness. The Museum of the Living Artist (MoLA) is a 10,000 square-foot state-of-the-art gallery space, located in the heart of scenic Balboa Park, a botanical jewel and the centerpiece of the city of San Diego.
