I'm currently offering one-on-one in home workshops for those interested. I live in Eddyville, Oregon off of the coast of Newport in a cabin in the woods on 20 acres on the river. I have a nice large insulated studio that stays cool in the summer and heated in the winter. I can provide a small room with a view, oxygen, propane, and the various tools I have at my disposal for you to work with while you're here. I can offer some glass, but I recommend that you bring your own color or dichro if that's something you're interested in working with. There will be a lot involved with workshops out here. I hope it to be a kind of artist retreat. A place to get renewed and inspired. The longer the stay, the more ground we can cover. Of course you get to keep everything you make, so realistically, you should be able to pay for your stay with the glass you make here. Part of the workshop will consist of some tool making that will be required for some of the sculpting techniques I use. Other than that, it will be non-stop work involving you watching me perform a technique, and then me coaching you through the processes. And side by side working once the projects are on their way. And also a lot of discussions about glass and its many possibilities. I recommend a 3 day to a week stay. It's normally enough time to get settled in and into a groove. I work long hours so be prepared to work. Since I am very remote, we'll have to plan ahead for meals. The type of food you eat, etc. Once we're here working we won't be leaving, so you'll want to come prepared. We're 12 miles to the nearest convenience store. I'm asking $200 a day for all that I just mentioned, and plus I can offer partial work trades for those interested in helping out with some of the projects I have, like work around the cabin. And if you're planning on flying in, I can pick you up from the airport if you pay for the gas and buy me lunch. Don't worry, my Geo Metro gets 50 miles to the gallon, so it shouldn't hurt too bad. LOL. The nearest airports are in Portland (PDX) and Eugene, Oregon. Let me know if this is something you're interested in and we can schedule a sabbatical.
